The Celebrity Cruise Line Fleet:

The Century Class Fleet:

            These vessels joined the Celebrity Fleet between 1995 and 1997.   Although a decade old, the design and décor of the ships are highly contemporary.

Celebrity Century – Alongside the Millennium class’ Constellation, the Century is the co-flagship of the Celebrity fleet.

The 815’ Century offers the most suites of any ship in the Celebrity fleet.  With an occupancy of 1,814, Celebrity Century offers 314 private verandas, 14 sky suites, and 174 concierge class staterooms.  With over 71,000 tons of fun, there are more than enough options to keep you and your family busy. 

There are 12 decks on the Century, which was completely refurbished in April of 2006.  It is Celebrity Cruise Line’s most extensive renovation to date.

By day, enjoy a book from the lending library and soak up the sun high atop the Celebrity Century on their pool deck.  By night, enjoy dancing under the stars beside the glowing pool, enjoy a dinner at one of the specialty restaurants aboard the Century, or enjoy one of their many bars.

The Murano Restaurant is known for its carving and flambé, as well as breathtaking chandeliers hand-sculpted from Murano glass.

The Grand Restaurant is a two floor dining room with floor to ceiling windows and fine china, offering a truly gourmet dining experience.

Martini Bar offers a literal score of options when it comes to this classic genre of drink, and offers a relaxing environment to transition from dinner to disco.  Note their “ice bar,” a liquid wall frozen to form sparking crystals, and a bar shelf made of ice.

Michael’s Club is the perfect place to wind down.  Enjoy an evening drink as you listen to the soothing sounds of the grand piano at this late-night bar.

Celebrity Mercury – The Celebrity Mercury is an 866 ft. cruise ship that has been in operation since 1997.  With a capacity of 1,866, the Mercury offers private verandas, sky suites, and concierge class staterooms.

There are two pools on board the Mercury, the Palm Springs pool with a retractable roof and the open air La Playa pool.

By day there are ample activities in which to participate on board the 12 deck ship, including spas, reading rooms, daytime dance lessons, and shopping.

Come sunset, try your luck at the Fortunes Casino, or dance the night away at one of the many dance clubs on board.  Stop into the Navigator Club for ballroom dancing lessons and evening cocktails, or enjoy some bubbly at the Champagne Bar.

If you are in the mood for relaxing, head on over to one of the Mercury’s multiple theatres, where you can watch films or live performances.

The Millennium Class:

            The Millennium Class of ships includes the Millennium, the Infinity, the Summit and the Constellation.  These new ships are all under 10 years old, and are known for their teak and glass features.  Not only are these vessels adorned with modern amenities, but they are also the most technologically advanced ships in the Celebrity fleet.  All Millennium Class ships are fitted with gas turbine engines, which reduce the ships’ carbon emissions.

2008 brought a myriad of awards for the Millennium Class of ships, as all four ranked in the top 10 of Condé Nast’s prestigious annual traveler’s poll.  This honor maintains Celebrity’s reputation as the number one premium cruise line in the world.

            The Celebrity Constellation was ranked atop Condé Nast traveler’s Cruise Reader’s Poll for the third consecutive year in 2008’s “large ship” category.  As co-flagship of the Celebrity fleet, she spends winters in the Caribbean and summers in Europe.

The 965’ cruise ship has an occupancy of 2,034 passengers.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy your time on this 11-deck vessel, which highlights relaxation vacations.  One of the highlights is the Conservatory Garden, which sits high atop the cruise ship and is styled by Emilio Robba, best known for his work in silk floral designs.  Be sure to stop by the Persian Garden, as well, where you can decompress in saunas and steam baths.

            Your fine dining option aboard the Celebrity Constellation is the Ocean Liner Restaurant.  The restaurant walls are adorned with memorabilia from TransAtlantic journeys past, and the four-course meal is prepared, carved, and flambéed. at your tableside.  Wine costs between $18 and $150 a bottle, or you can enjoy a chef- and sommelier- designed wine pairing for an additional fee.

After dinner, relax and unwind in Michael’s Bar, the cigar bar-cum-piano bar, or listen to the live music coming out of one of the ship’s two attached lounges, Rendezvous or the Champagne Bar.

If you somehow find yourself still tense aboard the Constellation , de-stress in one of Celebrity’s two libraries; Notes, the music library or Words, a traditional lending library.

The Infinity has also won awards for Celebrity’s Millennium Class fleet.  The Infinity tied for 6^th place in the Condé Nast Traveler poll’s large ship division.  The 965 foot ship is known for it’s abundant use of marble, etched glass, and wood accents.  Be sure to spend some time in the atrium, a three-story hall with such highlights as  glass observation floors, an underlit marble staircase, and outward-facing elevators.

Join some of the other 2,046 passengers for nightly theatrical performances that rival the quality of those found on Broadway.

Spend your days poolside by one of the Infinity’s two outdoor pools, or decompress in the Emilio Robba designed Conservatory Garden. The 11 deck Celebrity Infinity offers myriad ways to spend your days asea.  Be sure to stop by the indoor thalassotherapy [salt-water] pool and adjoined Spa Café, serving meals for the health-conscious traveler.

            Your specialty restaurant aboard the Celebrity Infinity is the SS United States, named after the largest United States owned ocean liner in history.  The ship was known for its speed during TransAtlantic journeys, but speed is quite the opposite of what your dining experience will be.  Be sure to note the glass panels in the restaurant; they are the originals from the now-docked SS United States.

After dinner spend some time in Michael’s Piano Bar, or listen to the live music coming out of one of the ship’s two main lounges, Rendezvous or the Champagne Bar.

The Celebrity Millennium ranked as the third best large-sized ship in the 2008 Condé Nast Tavel Readers Poll.    The Millennium joined the Celebrity fleet in 2000, and is currently the lead ship of the Millennium Class.

Their fine dining restaurant, the RMS Olympic, pays homage to the sister-ship of the ill-fated RMS Titanic and HMS Britannic by using the original wooden panels used on the Olympic’s restaurant walls.  There is a fee to dine at the Olympic.  Your Tripology Travel Agent can take care of making reservations for you.  Be sure not to miss the sommelier-recommended pairings from the ships vast dine-in wine cellar.

Other highlights aboard this 965-foot vessel include live theatrical performances in the Celebrity Theatre as well as comedians and big-screen film viewings.  When not airing movies, the theatre is used for daily lectures and informational talks.

Nightlife options are ample aboard the Celebrity Millennium.  Enjoy a relaxing evening at Michael’s piano bar, or dance the night away in one of the many clubs.  End your evening beside the Riviera Pool, which offers a late-night buffet to accompany your stargazing. 

And if sailing the seas doesn’t get your mind off of your favorite sports team, spend an afternoon in the Extreme Sports Bar on the top deck of the Millennium, where you can catch all of the action live.

Celebrity Summit tied for second-place in the Condé Nast Traveler rankings.  The ship has been in service for Celebrity since 2001, and continues to exude premium service.  You can expect the same great service on the Summit as you can on all ships in the Celebrity Millennium fleet.

            Although you have many options for dining, the highlight of the ship is The Normandie restaurant, inspired by the region of France, which offers meals created by the side of your table.

But your day does not begin with dinner.  Spend some time in the Persian Gardens, stop by Emilio Robba’s Garden Conservatory for a lesson in floral design and arrangement, spend some time in the Fitness Center, equipped with top-of-the-line machinery and personal trainers waiting to work alongside you, or spend your afternoon in the card room before trying your luck at Fortunes Casino.

And as always, the Waterfall Pool is open day and night for you to relax beside.  Don’t forget to borrow a book from the ship’s library, Words, before you head up to the top decks, though!

The Xpedition Class:

            The Celebrity Xpedition is the newest type of ship in the Celebrity fleet.  With a capacity of only 90 passengers, the Xpedition allows cruisers to gain entry to ports not accessible by larger cruise ships. 

Due to the small size of the ship, only 296 feet, Celebrity focuses on individual attention for every passenger.

As the Celebrity Xpedition sails exclusively to the Galapagos Islands, you’ll find areas of discovery in every corner of this ship.

The Discovery Lounge preps you on the many creatures you’ll encounter in the Galapagos with naturalist-led nightly lectures, books and information on the animals for your own research, and a picturesque bar within the lounge.

Spend your days relaxing on the sunrise deck, where you will find a sauna, hot tub, and sunning area.  Enjoy a meal at one of the aptly named restaurants, the Beagle Grille or Darwin’s Restaurant.   And if you opt out of the Discovery Lounge lectures, spend an evening in the Blue Finch Bar, which offers stunning outside views.

There are no AquaSpa services available on the Xpedition.

Solstice Class:

The Solstice Class of ships was rolled out in 2008 and is touted for the close attention paid to each detail and guest.  The Solstice Ship debuted in 2008, and Celebrity plans to introduce the Equinox this summer and the Eclipse in 2010.  Though not all ships are sailing now, do not hesitate to contact Tripology travel agents to aid you in your future cruise plans.

The Celebrity Solstice joined the Celebrity fleet in November of 2008, and offers a level of service unrivaled by previous Celebrity vessels.       

A ship highlight (and industry first) is the Lawn Club, an actually lawn laid on the highest deck of the ship.  Enjoy the country club-like atmosphere high atop the 1,033 foot long vessel.

The Celebrity Solstice offers seven different stateroom categories, including the new AquaClass staterooms.  On the same deck as the ship’s AquaSpa services, the AquaClass staterooms incorporate spa elements into your everyday living on the ship, including a health-conscious restaurant Blu, and allow special access to spa services.

Celebrity also expanded their on-board activity roster with the Solstice.  With an Art Gallery, a wine cellar offering daily tastings, glass-blowing classes, a sky observation lounge, new dining options and more clubs than ever before, there is truly never a dull moment aboard the new Celebrity Solstice. 

The Celebrity Equinox is slated to join the Celebrity fleet in August 2009.  She will be the largest ship in the Celebrity fleet, holding 2,850 passengers.  The Equinox will have 10 restaurants, and all of the amenities found on her sister ship, the Celebrity Solstice.

The Celebrity Eclipse is the third Solstice-class ship, set to debut in 2010. Similar to the Equinox, the Celebrity Eclipse will hold 2,850 passengers and offer a variety of new features, including the AquaClass Staterooms on the AquaSpa deck, 10 restaurants, theatres, a sky observation lounge, and real grass to sink your feet into at the Lawn Club.
