Maldives Honeymoon Vacation

Maldives, located on the equator towards the south of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean, is a great honeymoon destination for the couple looking for peace, serenity and seclusion.  With its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and over water villas and bungalows, it’s no wonder newlyweds travel from all over the world to honeymoon here.

Maldives is made up of roughly 1000 coral islands that are grouped in approximately 27 atolls.  Each atoll consists of an island of coral that circles a lagoon and is accessible primarily by speedboat. Photos of this unique geographic landscape would be a great addition to any Maldives honeymoon vacation photo album.

A romantic sunset cruise around Maldives is the perfect way to enjoy a Maldives honeymoon vacation, as is a picnic on one of Maldives many private beaches. If you want your Maldives honeymoon vacation to include water sports, you’re in luck.  Maldives has some of the best windsurfing, parasailing, diving and snorkeling in the Indian Ocean. You can also fish for sharks, sailfish, marlins and the famous skipjack of Maldives.

Make sure you get vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Typhoid before heading on your Maldives honeymoon vacation and don’t forget your sunscreen. You don’t want to get sunburn while on your exotic honeymoon in Maldives. The best months for swimming and snorkeling are December through May, when the waters are calm and the rainfall is at a minimum. The rainy season runs from May to November, so avoiding booking your Maldives honeymoon vacation during this time.
