Munich, Germany Group Vacation

“Oktoberfest” is the word that sends thousands flocking to Munich annually, though there is much more to the city than flowing beer.  Full of culture hip, historic, and heuristic, Munich is the Bavarian capital in Germany.
The city has impressive architecture, though many of its buildings have been rebuilt to look as they did in the past after extensive bombings during WWII.  The City Center, the area within the old walled city, is home to Karlsplatz (Stachus) square and shopping.  Your group should also visit the parts of the walls still standing, including Stachus, Isartor and Sendlingertor gates.
Nightlife is contained, for the most part, in the Kultfarbrik neighborhood (though many locals still know it as Kunstpark Ost), home to dozens of bars, nightclubs, and discos.  But for the true beer fanatic, Neuhausen is home to the world’s biggest beer garden, Hirschgarten.  It has over 8,000 seats, is covered by trees, and abuts Nymphenburg Castle on one side and a park stocked with deer on the other.  Nymphenburg Castle, Schloss Nymphenburg, was the summer home for rulers.  It was built in the Baroque fashion.  Two other castles not to be missed are Residenz and Scholoss Schleissheim.  Tripology travel agents can even rent your tour group bicycles at group rates so you can enjoy the views of the city from the hundreds of kilometers of bike trail.
There is a sad side to the city, as well, as Munich was home to one of the major Concentration Camps.  Visit Dachau, only 30 minutes outside of Munich, with buses and trains departing for Dachau regularly.
For a more uplifting day trip, drive up to the Bavarian Alps.
