Jamaica Honeymoon Vacation

With it’s coastal lowlands, limestone plateau, amazing beaches and Blue Mountains, it’s no wonder Jamaica continues to rank very high on the list of top honeymoon destinations.

A ride on a bamboo raft down the Rio Grande River is the perfect way to spend an afternoon on your Jamaica honeymoon vacation.  While on your raft ride, be sure to stop at Lovers Lane, a narrow section of the river formed by two rocks whose name was coined in the 1950’s by the actor Errol Flynn. No Jamaica honeymoon vacation would be complete without a trip to the Blue Lagoon.  Also called the Blue Hole, this lagoon is actually a 170-foot deep hole whose turquoise waters change color depending on the position of the sun and is the place where Brooke Shields filmed her famous movie, aptly titled, Blue Lagoon. You can also swim with dolphins at the Dolphin Cove at Treasure Reef and enjoy the natural Jacuzzi at Mayfield Falls and the 20 natural pools that surround it.

Jamaica is also known for her lovely beaches. Cornwall Beach or Doctor’s Cove Beach, both located in Montego Bay, are the best beaches for snorkeling and swimming. When visiting Negril’s famous 7- mile beach, make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen. It is one of Jamaica’s many clothing optional beaches and a sunburn here would put a damper on your Jamaica honeymoon vacation.

The official currency in Jamaica is the Jay, but the US Dollar is widely accepted.  Avoid booking your Jamaica honeymoon vacation during hurricane season, which runs from June through September.  Instead, book you Jamaica honeymoon vacation during high season, which runs from December through March.
