Galapagos Honeymoon Vacation

The Galapagos is an archipelago located 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador and the place where Charles Darwin formulated his theory of evolution. Because large predators did not evolve here, the animals of the Galapagos are not afraid of humans. This lack of fear allows us to get up close and personal with them and is the main reason why newlyweds travel from all across the globe to experience a Galapagos honeymoon vacation.

One of the first stops on any Galapagos honeymoon vacation is the Charles Darwin Research Station at Santa Cruz, where you can observe the Galapagos tortoises that captivated Darwin first hand. From there, you and your loved one can travel to Bartholomew and climb up wooden steps to the top of an extinct volcano.  No Galapagos honeymoon vacation would be complete without a visit to red sandy shores of Rabida, also known as Jervis Island, where you can snorkel with sea lions. The island of Espanola is the best place to see the famous blue-footed boobies perform their mating dance and is a must on any Galapagos honeymoon vacation.  You can also go surfing off of Isla San Cristobal and watch the sunset with your loved one on its beautiful sandy shores.

The best time of year to book your Galapagos honeymoon vacation is from October through May. This is also high season, so be sure to book at least 6 months in advance. Make sure you bring rain gear, as light showers occur almost daily.
