Tripology Travel Experts Blog: Turks and Caicos Islands

Behind the scenes of Turks and Caicos

If you are looking for the most pristine beaches the Caribbean has to offer, Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos would be my first stop. With sand like talcum and water as blue-green as seaglass. The luxury resorts nestled on the beach afford some of the best views of the sea you will find anywhere. As well as amazing services and facilities.

Turks and Caicos is a quiet island where you will laze days away at the beach. But at night, prepare to try some of the most exquisite restaurants in this hemisphere. They are an absolute delight of fresh seafood and other wonderful ingredients.

One of my favorite restaurants here is Anacaona located at Grace Bay Club. Open-air, on the beach offering amazing service and a sunset that will make your jaw drop. The word romantic comes to mind. If you enjoy chocolate, save room for the lava cake. You might just find yourself stopping by several times for dessert (we did!).

Rent a car to explore on your own. The island is safe and easy to navigate with a map found at the airport. There are so many great hidden beaches to find, that a care will come in handy. You'll also want to trek off Grace Bay Beach to the Blue Hills for some conch at the famous Da Conch Shack. Doesn't get any better then those conch fritters.

If you are a spa lover, you might want to consider getting a day pass to the uber-exclusive Parrot Cay. The ferry will take you from Provo to the small private island and you will think you've died and gone to heaven. The spa is a serene indulgence that would make your vacation here complete.

Turks and Caicos isn't for everyone. But, if beauty, luxury, fine dining, great beach bars and a relaxed atmosphere are your thing, you'll want to put this spot at the top of your list.
