Destination Wedding Maui, Hawaii

There are few places in the US that are more pleasing to the eye than Maui. A honeymoon destination from generations past, Hawaii still holds as one of the most romantic places on American soil. With over 2 million visitors a year, it is no surprise that luxury resort communities dot the sands, but that is not all this lush island offers.

Whatever type of vacation your destination wedding party seeks, a must is driving the Hana Highway. Running along Maui’s east coast, the highway winds it’s way through mountains, waterfalls, and black sand beaches. The stunning views will easily be your favorite memories of your romantic Maui destination wedding getaway.

Waianapanapa State Park is home to black sand beaches, and red sands can be found near Hana. Kapalua and Kaanapali are great choices for sunbathing, and if you want to see whales catch a sunrise or sunset at the lovely Wailea beach. If it’s big waves and body-boarding you seek, look no further than Big Beach.

Tee off in Kapalua, sip wine fresh from the vineyard in Kula, snorkel Honolu’a Bay, and surf in Paia. Hike through the rainforest in Hana, take a helicopter ride over the island (and its neighbors), and trek the volcanic crater at Haleakala National Park. From the summit, you can see 5 of the 8 Hawaiian Islands, the most visible from anywhere in the state. Whether you choose to stay for a week or a lifetime, you and your destination wedding party will never run out of things to do in Maui. Peak tourist season runs hand in hand with when the Humpbacks are wintering off of Maui, from Christmas to April.
