Destination Wedding Westmoreland, Jamaica

Sometimes referred to as the “untouched paradise,” Westmoreland is the westernmost part of Jamaica, located in the southern part of the island. Enjoy some quiet relaxation in an off-the-beaten-path part of Jamaica, filled with rivers, lush forest and waterfalls.

Begin your trip in Savannah-la-Mar, the capital of the Parish. There is an old fort used in the 18th century to defend the town against pirates that is worth a peek. Up next head to the Roaring River Park for a nice walk through nature and a look at the Roaring River Estate.

The Mayfield Falls will stay in your memory as one of the most romantic parts of your Westmoreland Destination Wedding Vacation, though. Hidden deep in the Dolphin Head Mountains, Mayfield Falls are a conglomeration of mini-waterfalls and pools that gently massage you and your whole wedding party after a day of trekking through the woods. One cluster of falls is called the Washing Machine, and for good reason. As you stand between rocks, the falls hit you from all angles, cleaning you like a pair of dirty gym socks.

Take the time to get to know the locals, they are a friendly and diverse population eager to get to know the visitors that are just starting to arrive in Westmoreland (with the exception of Negril, one of the larger destinations on the island). If you are looking for a cultural experience as well as one of sand and sea, Westmoreland is the perfect place for your upcoming destination wedding.
