Hawaii Family Vacation

When you think of Hawaii, a romantic vacation is surely what comes to mind.  But Hawaii is not only for couples.  It is chock full of adventure and educational activities, which makes it a great destination for families.

While in Maui, be sure to visit Haleakala Crater, the world’s largest dormant volcano.  It is one of the most spectacular places in all of Hawaii and a must on any Hawaii family vacation. In Oahu, make sure to check out the Honolulu Zoo, the Waikiki Aquarium, Sea Life Park and the Hawaiian Waters Adventure. If you want to add an educational tour to your Hawaii family vacation, be sure to stop by the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

No Hawaii family vacation would be complete without a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.  This park is home to the most active volcano in America and has plenty of family friendly activities.  Children of all ages can  swim with dolphins and even build their very own earthquake machine.   The Children’s Discovery Museum in Kauai is another great place full of activities that both children and their parents will enjoy.

Families with small children will find it easier to focus on one island, while those with older children might enjoy island hopping on their Hawaii family vacation.  Families requiring two or more hotel rooms can save money by renting condominiums.  The best time of year to book your Hawaii family vacation is during the months of July and August, when children are typically on summer vacation.
