Italy Family Vacation

Italy is a European country rich in history and culture. With its ties to the ancient world and artistic splendor, it is no surprise that people flock from all over the world to experience an Italy family vacation.

A visit to a glass blowing factory in Murano is a great way to start your Italy family vacation. Watching a  glass blowing demonstrations at one of these factories can easily the highlight of any Italy family vacation.  For a more hands on experience, be sure to visit Fattoria Poggio Alloro in Tuscany, where families can learn to make pasta and even eat what they cooked.  If you have stroller age children, you might want to avoid a trip to Venice on your Italy family vacation, as this city is home to hundreds of bridges with steps on either side, making it very had to wheel a stroller.

Kids ages 6-12 will enjoy touring Rome with Kids Adventures, which features a treasure hunt at the Roman Forum.  Older kids can go to the Gladiator School of Rome, where they can dress up like a gladiator and receive private gladiator fighting lessons.  Families that love Star Wars will want their Italy family vacation to include a trip to the Palazzo Reale in Caserta, where the interior shots of Queen Amidala’s palace were filmed.

While the people of Italy are very child welcoming, the establishments are not always kid friendly. Many restaurants do not offer highchairs and a lot of hotel rooms are not childproof.
