Greece Family Vacation

Greece is the birthplace of democracy, theater and the Olympic games.  With so much history, it is therefore no surprise that people travel from all over the world to experience a Greece family vacation.

A great way to get your children excited for their Greece family vacation is to read them as many Greek myths as they can handle.  Once in Greece, you can take them on a tour of the ancient sites that correspond to their favorite myths.  Most of these ancient sites are temples that the Greeks built to honor their Gods.  A large portion of them are located at the Acropolis in Athens, a must see on any Greece family vacation.  While in Athens, be sure to visit the Dionysus Theater, the oldest theater in the world, as well as the Panathenaic Stadium, home to the first modern day Olympics.

There are many beaches in Greece that cater to families.  Vatera Beach is great for children and nearby Aphrodite Hotel even has a trampoline. The Greek Island of Mykonos is best for older teens and has camps located at both Paraga beach and Paradise beach.  If your children are very young and/or not very strong swimmers, be sure to check out Kamares, a virtually waveless beach on the island of Sifnos. Adventure seeking families will want to include a visit to the island of Corfu on their Greece family vacation, where they can go snorkeling, sailing, diving, water skiing and parasailing
