Cruise Vacation Package

The biggest obstacle to overcome when booking a cruise vacation package is deciding where you want to go: majestic Alaska, sunny Caribbean, the islands of Hawaii or the classical cities of Europe.  When making this decision, don’t forget the seasons in the Northern and Southern hemispheres are reversed. You also have to figure out how many ports you want your cruise vacation package to stop at and how much time you want to spend at the port versus on the ship.  Certain cruises spend most of their time at port, while others rarely leave the open waters.

Many cruise lines have air to sea packages, meaning they arrange all the transportation from the airport to the cruise port.  Look for this option when booking your cruise vacation package.  It will make your trip that much easier.  Most cruises include a formal night, so be sure to bring formal wear.   A basic cruise vacation package is all-inclusive and includes taxes, port charges, airfare, cabin stay, meals, and 24-hour room service.  Shore excursions, gratuities and alcoholic beverages are usually extra.

Don’t forget your passport if your cruise takes you anywhere outside of the United States.  This includes the Caribbean and Canada.   If you want to save money, book your cruise vacation package during the off-season, which is May or September for Alaskan cruises and the summer for Caribbean cruises.   Cruise vacation packages come in all shapes and sizes, so make sure you choose one that is within your budget and meets your personal needs.
