Indigenous Signature Spa Treatment from Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa

Morado, the Spa at Borrego Ranch, has just introduced a new, indigenous signature treatment, The Six Hand Prickly Pear and Pink Grapefruit Tranquility Treatment (110 minutes, $575). Prickly pear is known for its hydrating and anti-aging properties, grapefruit is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and B-5, and both are locally grown in Southern California. The treatment includes a prickly pear seed oil body scrub, revitalizing pink grapefruit body mask, foot reflexology, honey hair treatment with a scalp massage, a soak bath with champagne, and a six-handed aromatherapy massage. Six handed!  You're like to have never experienced anything like it before, in or out of the desert.

I checked in with a representative from Morado to learn what the inspiration for this special treatment was. "The idea was to create an experience that incorporates ingredients that are indigenous to this region, with more popular body scrub and massage rituals, while adding a truly luxurious level of 6-handed service, and the indulgent element of a hair and scalp treatment. All of which combine to leave the guest wanting for nothing more!"

The resort is the creation of innovative spa and leisure visionary Joseph DeNucci, former COO of internationally-recognized Miraval.

Morado is a beautifully appointed two-story 5,000 square foot spa with eight treatment rooms. The decor features tone-on-tone brick, plaster walls and muted amethyst hues. Elegant iron and glass doors frame the entrance, tall gossamer draperies line the space and a tranquil water feature greets guests upon arrival. Imported, antique Spanish tiles pave the floors throughout the common areas and a comfortable seating area dressed in fresh linen invites guests to take their time while they sample and shop the extensive selection of fine retail products.

Spa and hotel guests can enjoy Mirado's steam room. There is a soaking tub in the couples suite which is used in the signature treatment and for add-on soaks.
