Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa--not too late to plan an inexpensive yet memorable vacation

Preconceptions about Austin and Texas in general banished when I entered the woodsy drive to Hyatt Regency Lost Pines.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines is about a 15 min cab ride from Austin itself and sits on the edge of a natural forest preserve, the 1100 acre McKinney Roughs Nature Park. Any preconceptions about Austin or Texas vanished as I drove through 400 acres of a gorgeous woodsy area to come upon the ranch-style resort. A low-rise, the Hyatt Lost Pines rambling exterior blends well into this bucolic area.

No soaring signature atrium for this particular Hyatt. Instead, warm, woodsy tones and natural rock set the ambience of this ranch.

As with all Hyatts, Lost Pines has the discerning service and abundance of amenities that characterizes the Hyatt Regency brand. But because of its natural setting on the banks of the Colorado River, the opportunities for outdoor relaxation are numerous.

Kayaking and rafting on the Colorado, hiking the trails through the forests, horseback riding, barbeques, outdoor musical events—Texas style, and golf. Add the unique Lazy River waterways and pools for the kids (or kid-at-heart), several restaurants from casual to gourmet, and a world-class spa and fitness center, and there’s truly something for everyone. Renowned Camp Hyatt gives the little ones their own daily adventures, custom-tailored to their ages. Its proximity to Austin proper and Historic Bastrop affords additional dining and musical venues and such unusual activities as ghost hunting.

Aggressive promotions make this an affordable family vacation without breaking the family budget. Call or email me for more information to see if Lost Pines is the perfect destination for your family.
