Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is paradise on Hawaii's Poipu Beach

The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is not to be outdone by its sister resort on Maui. This vision of loveliness sits on the ‘sunny south shore’ of Kauai, next to famed Poipu Beach, recently ranked the #1 beach in the country.
After an extensive, multimillion dollar renovation within the last couple of years—which saw a doubled expansion of its sumptuous Spa Anara and complete overhaul of soft goods--Hyatt was upgraded to ‘Grand’ status in recognition of its higher level of luxury.
Its grand lobby reflects the tropical, breezy, upscale ambience that pervades this resort. Conversation areas overlooking exotic birds and plants and koi lagoons create relaxing public areas. Waterways are extensively featured throughout the resort—koi and swan and even saltwater lagoons, waterfalls of varying dimensions, bubbling lava rock streams, interconnected freeform pools with tiers, mini-waterfalls and lush landscaping—and seamlessly blended into the natural landscaping. This artful use of water and plants complements the natural beauty of Kauai, not competes with it.
Accommodations are spacious and gracious with sitting/conversation areas opening onto balconies or terraces from which to gaze upon the cobalt ocean, the verdant mountains, or the lush gardens. Deep plush mattresses and high-thread-count linens ensure restful nights’ sleep after busy days. Marble baths, fluffy bathrobes, and high-end bath amenities appeal to those who appreciate a fine bathroom.
There are a number of casual dining venues and lounges on-site as well as its fine-dining Italian dinner house and its romantic Tidepools restaurant, at the edge of the swan lagoon and waterfalls. Reserve a table at the edge and dine by tiki torch at sunset—very romantic! Plus, its location in Poipu means that there are scores of other restaurants (casual to gourmet) within an easy walk or 5 minute drive.
The aforementioned Spa Anara is truly a feast for all senses. In its own words, “Anara Spa weaves traditional Hawaiian healing customs to inspire lokahi - unity, harmony, balance.” Try the uniquely Hawaiian lomi lomi massage or the Pohaku warm stone massage therapy. Mmmm. And I swear by their coco-mango products—smell as good as they feel.
Of course there is a Camp Hyatt for the youngsters which offers fun activities and expert care so Mom and Dad can enjoy some private adult-time. Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa is equally suited for romantic honeymooners and family reunions. There really is something for everyone at this luxury 5* resort.
