Mexican Riviera Luxury Style

Recently, I spent a very busy week in the sunny Mexican Riviera taking a serious look at all the amazing new 5 star properties that have opened there in the past few years. The last time I was there it was just after hurricane Wilma had devastated the area … today thankfully there is no sign of the incredible destruction they experienced five years ago.

The Riviera Maya unfurls along 81 miles of Mexico’s Caribbean coast, a ribbon of sun-drenched powdery white sand. The area has grown immensely along some of the most gorgeous stretches of beach on earth.

Here there is truly something for every taste – All-inclusive or a la carte/adult only or family friendly/on the beach or on the golf course even over-water bungalows/quiet and remote or large and lively.

All these incredible properties offered exquisite accommodation (mostly suites) with sumptuous baths and most offered individual private plunge pools. Each property had a magnificent spa with every treatment imaginable. Each restaurant offered unique gourmet dining – a far cry from the tasteless buffets associated with all-inclusive resorts in the past.

The Mayakoba resorts (The Fairmont, The Rosewood, and Banyan Tree) are built around the spectacular Greg Norman designed PGA golf course running through the mangroves to the sea..

With easy flights from almost everywhere to Cancun … most people can be on the beach, in the spa or on the golf course by early afternoon.

Each property is offering some incredible values so now is the time to lock in a super rate for a fall or winter escape. Now is the time to experience “Mexico de lujo.”
