Tuscany Cooking and Gardens

This past October once again, we enjoyed a magnificent sojourn in glorious Tuscany with a great group of participants. Our incredible experiences included learning to cook many delicious local specialties, often in the wood fire oven and of course the immense satisfaction in eating the fruits of our labor!

In between our kitchen sessions, we visited several of the glorious villas in the area and marveled at their incredible Italianate gardens. Wine tastings along with visits to several charming local restaurants, and a romp through the picturesque villages of Cinque Terre rounded out our week in this incredible area of Italy where blue skies and sunshine greeted us every morning. Following our week of total immersion in the hills above Lucca where most of us improved our Italian skills immensely, we returned to civilization in Florence. Amongst all the glories of this fabulous city, we were treated to a private tour of the Uffizi Museum and the Vasari Corridor – used by the Medicis to cross the Arno from the Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi to the Palazzo Pitti across the top of the Ponte Vecchio – simply amazing!
