There are many stories told along the Amazon River - one is story of the "White Dolphin"
The Pink Dolphin is believed to have supernatural powers such as the power to change its appearance to that of a charming and handsome young man.
He dresses in all white - including a hat to cover the blowhole on the top of his head.
It is believed that the 'all-white' attire is from the days of the first seamen landing - sailors wore white and often left girls pregnant.
This very handsome and most appealing young man comes from the river at night to attend a local gathering. He chooses the most beautiful girl and spends his time seducing her with his personality. After a long night - he leaves after impregnating her. He returns to the river as a Pink Dolphin. Pregnant women without a husband, blame the gentle young man that mysteriously emerges from the waters.
The average family living in the larger cities along the Amazon have 2 children - the further from the cities the families grow is size to as many as 14 children. Some of these are attributed to the 'White Dolphin'.
